Living Tree >>>> High School Bleachers >>>> My House Trim

Awhile back I bought about 60 old high school bleacher boards and on Friday I started getting them hauled over to the house.   They are various lengths, widths, and thicknesses but hopefully with a fair amount of cutting, ripping and planing (and scraping off of hardened bubble gum) they'll provide me with some really nice exterior and interior trim.   The seller bought them at an auction (oh if only I had been at that auction! I could have gotten a lot more for a lot cheaper!)  and said that they are all Fir which from the information I can find seems to be well suited for exterior trim as it remains stable and tends not to twist and warp.   I am leaning toward painting the exterior trim using a non-toxic and biodegradable linseed oil paint.  It is claimed to last 50 years with the only maintenance being occasional (every 5-10 years) refresher coats of linseed oil.  More info in it here.

I might just hang this one on the wall as art, homage to an era.
